After the flood, comes the non-functional AC

2005 Mini Cooper S

So, my car was flooded a few months back. Superb bit of fun, that.

Insurance snatched up the car, replaced the carpet, and some footwell module thing.

Now, my Defrost, AC, and Recirculate buttons do not work. Push them, and no lights.

I don't want to take it back to the shop unless I can't discover the issue, they want to keep my car, no rental or loaner, and I don't have other transport.

Help me get started troubleshooting?

Assuming you checked the fuses? Pretty sure that F16 is for the inside car heater/AC fan. Its a 30 amp so it may also control the recirc flapper

I'm relatively ignorant to all things electrical, hence asking here. I appreciate the feedback, I'll look for the fuse.

Driver side foot well. Here is a picture of the fuse box. Orient the picture as the "spare fuses" are lined up.

Went outside and checked, all of the fuses are good. I started at the one you mentioned, then just systematically checked all 40+ none are blown.

It may be a relay that is in the box to the right of the air box when you have the hood open or perhaps the fan motor is shot. If you cannot test circuits then you most likely need to have a shop look at it.

The fan comes on, heat works, just not those three buttons. I'm going to check the relay today, and I guess make an appointment for next week if that's not it.

Thanks for your help.
