Headlight bulb help!

I have a 2005 MCS and I had a low beam headlight go out. I took the bulb out and it was 55 W H1. Everything I see on the forum tells me it should not be an H1. I want to replace the low beams with LED's and I am not sure what to buy. Any help?

Check a few things first.
Is it a US or UK car? - I don't know if they are different, but they might be.
If it's a US car it should be the same as my 2002 which has H7 bulbs in both high & low beams.
The H1 has a single spade 12V connector & grounds through the base of the bulb.
The H7 has two connectors, live & ground. The bulb base is also much bigger than an H1. They are not interchangeable with an H1.
I really don't think you want LED low beams unless you can find some actually designed for the reflector & I don't think they exist unless you change the entire headlight unit.

If you want to see better, use Philips H7XTV Xtreme Vision from http://www.candlepowerinc.com/ - they deliver what they promise & last an awful lot longer than Sylvania.
If you truly have H1 bulbs, just install the 80W or 100W versions designed for that reflector.
