EP Code Displayed Below Odometer

I have a 2006 Mini S that is displaying a code that I can determine its meaning. The letters EP are being displayed below the odometer. Normally when the engine is first started the miles left until service is needed is displayed and then goes off. I now have EP displayed constantly as soon as I turn on the ignition. My Mini dealer wasn't certain, but thought it had something to do with the transmission? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Not personally experienced with the 'EP' code, but plenty of reading here: http://bfy.tw/8zSE

Sometimes its a glitch and its needs reset. Other times it's internal. Most try the reset first.

Yes the EP is a trans fault. So need to read out the codes in the DME to find out and you should watch how the car is shifting as that may indicate your issue.
