I picked up an '06 Justa recently. Only one key and the remote wasn't working. I decided to bite the bullet and get another key so I would have a working remote and relegate the broken key to backup.
Took car in Saturday for recall (seat sensor) and to have key programmed. Got a call from dealer that the receiver isn't working. They swapped in a spare mirror and the remote worked. My mirror - nothing.
OK, fun part - they quoted $800 for a new mirror.
So, after politely telling him no thanks, I came home and did a little research. I found a broken mirror from a local parts car and took it apart.
Looks like this is the receiver. I'll get my car back tomorrow and swap it out. Has anybody tried this before? I'm hoping it's a cheap and easy fix.
It worked. The part in the circuit board in the non functioning mirror was shaped a little different but connector and mounting points were the same. Everything works now.
I've had fun taking a few of these apart, (and have parts leftover).
My mirror had auto dim and home link from factory and I retrofitted a mirror with the compass!!
$800 is just ridiculous.

Did the key and receiver need recoding or link or can the receiver just plug in and all will work straight away
