anyone know a good place where i can tap into and pick up a tachometer signal? i have a boost gauge that will pick up engine speed as well. and want it so i can log rpm, boost, and afr.

can i use the wire going to the factory tachometer and splice into that?

uhh that's not for regular rpm monitoring pretty sure pin 9 is a canbus pin

 

No CAN is 6 & 14.

Pretty sure that pin 9 is engine rpm.

 

Thankyou ill try pin 9 when im done with the rest of car. I thought i would have to splice into wiring if the main tachometer gauge

 

OBD2 has some standards for pin locations. 6 and 14 go to CAN BUS high and low.

 

ahh On our cars it's not can it's k-line isnt it? It's horribly slow 3rd party data loggers connect to the real canbus line instead
