I was detailing my Mini when I decided to pull up the covers that are located on the rear seats. When I openned the covers, I found that they concealed a small but solid horizontal metal bar. Does anyone know what this is. It looks to be a mount for racing harnesses. What is this amazing thing. Sorry if this has been discussed allready.

these four seperate bars are for childs seat holders!
just a note to remove your back seat you have to remove these plastic covers they just pry off.

 

Huh? What &quot;covers&quot; are you refering to? Could you be more specific?

the black coverthat lifts up also holst the seat down

 

They are the lower attach points for the LATCH system child safety seats.

 

The bars are for the child anchoring system but they are also used for racing harnesses. Check this harness out at Mini-madness.com. They look cool but i am not sure if i want one, my MCS is even here yet anyways, but it is crossing the &quot;pond&quot;! YIPPEE!
