from one Jeep owner to another...

vmote....

i know how you are feeling -- but again -- it may seem like a long time, but its really not --
did you try and sell your Jeep? maybe list it for close to what you owe and you just might get it --
or pay more on each monthly payment to try and bring that amount down...
i know it sucks....but we will both get our MINI's and it will be sooner than we think!!!

It's been roughly a month and a half - I'm still obsessed.

Just checked Cherokee payoff a few days ago. Its at $5,100, and its going to be less than $5,000 in a week or so. Still no good for a trade, but I think its safe to say that its not upside down for a private sale anymore.

I'm thinking about hanging onto it, and finding a means to pay it off quickly. I don't think anything good would come from getting a temporary "junker". Its no MINI, but I do value the practicality of the Cherokee and I think it would make a great alternative DD.

We'll see. I can be very impulsive.

I am a jeep enthusiest too. However my Mini is my daily driver and is my road toy. the jeep on the other hand has alot of love into it. it gets more attention than any other car I have owned. It is a 1942 Ford GPW and is all origional. I just finished a 3 year restoration on it and have put 2500 miles on it since febuary.

vmote,

One nice thing you have to look forward to, is that the Mini (at least right now) will not depreciate like crazy. I sold mine with almost 30,000 miles for only $1,000 less than I bought it for about 8 months ago. The Mini holds it value much better than most of the other cars on the market.

If you really like to drive, you will love this car. I can say after 2 years, I still thoroughly enjoy taking the car out, almost as much as when I had it the first day. I drive an hour to work, and enjoy the ride every day that I am in the Mini. My '05 will be here in another three weeks, so I am excited for that.

you are not alone....

i did the same thing last week and thought about buying a "junker" car and then just selling both when it was time -- but i dont want to do that --

i wish for my Jeep to be paid off and that i would have about $5000 extra as a down payment for my new MINI S...

and it was my birthday last week and i wished for that on every candle i saw.... so who knows..but i feel your pain -- i would love to keep my TJ and get a mini too...

and its just getting painful at this point -- like i want to have both NOW !
(i never was a patient one...)

so vmote -- you are not alone..
