R50/53 #3 Misfire help
#3 Misfire help
At about 4k in 6th gear on the highway I lost most power and CEL began to flash. I limped it home and checked the code - misfire on #3. Replaced all plugs wires and the coil. When i removed #3 plug I noticed the tip of the electrode was missing. When i started the car the code came right back and the miss is just as bad as before. I'm gonna do a compression check this weekend but I was wondering if there was anything "mini specific" that I should know about? Thanks in advance for any help
Please post a photo of the damaged plug. A lean condition in that cylinder is certainly a high probability.
If the tip burned off, there's a chance that you also burned a hole through the piston due to pre-ignition, so yes do a compression test.

Some suggestions to check over as well HERE. Compression test is always a good idea.
