I want to replace my brake lights to LED. Does anyone know if there is a direct replacement , using the stock bulb sockets? also, I believe the 2006 MCS uses a dual filament bulb for both brake and tail lights - is there an LED that is a direct replacement?

 

Yes - there's any number of them on eBay.
Pull your bulb first to double-check, but the likelihood is that's an 1157 BAY15D 21/5W.
Then search eBay for >>> 1157 led red 4x canbus <<<
This is for 4 bulbs so you have spares, some LEDs are not the greatest quality. About $2.50-$3 each. Make sure you get red LED bulbs, white ones will result in pink!
Pick anything showing 18-27SMD or more.
Pick a 'tower' style - you'll see the difference.
Pick to wait 4 days from CA or 4 weeks from China.
Some MINIs have 4 brake lights, depending on exactly which rear light clusters you have. The others are probably 1156 BA15.
If you want to change the yellow directionals, they are probably 1156Amber BA15, but get yellow LEDs with resistors or the flash rate will be wrong & fail inspection. Front ones may be different - check first.
