It's actually the most fun job I've ever had, nicest customers, best product, fantastic company....Being a Brit myself it's great to sell MINI's in the States anyway....

The dealership here in Nashville is on straight comission I believe, which isn't bad on a car as hot as this one is, but the production allocations is really hurting the salespeople.... They've sold ALL their allocations for several months out and with only a couple MC40's on the lot, they have nothing to sell but tshirts and hats.

I was there last thursday and saw at LEAST 3 different people come in, ready to buy right then and there - no haggling, just trade cash for keys.... and they had to turn them away when they didn't want to get on a waiting list. I'd bet all three people ended up buying cars off different lots this week, and they were probably not MINI's.

To make things more frustrating for them, the dealership owner just expanded their hours to something like 7pm instead of 5pm... so two more hours a day of turning people away empty handed.

 

Normalizer, I also getting my Mini from MoN. I talked to my MA today and he told me that they are staying open till 8pm. It just doesnt seem fair that it is straight commission.

 

8pm... that's it....

of course I could be wrong about other things too, but that's the way I understand it.

I do know that they get uptight about anything less than a perfect 5 on their telemarketing surveys.... anything less than perfect and it sounds like it's grounds for termination in certain cases.

Speaking of MoN, are you coming to the MINICC meeting saturday night at the dealership? Our first official meeting open to the public... we need all the input we can get, sure would like to see you there.
