R50/53 Member #'s are needed here!
Hey all,
A few years back I bought a large "cruiser style" of a Yamaha motorcycle. It looked like the HD Fatboy, but did not cost as much. I found a riders forum that was huge! It started small however. We had to register to take an active "role" on the forum, just like here. An attractive aspect of membership was the member #. It was just a number, but it reflected the growth of the club. When I joined, mine was something like 300. During the two years I was a member, it grew into over two thousand. When we posted topics, our username was utilized, along with our member #. Just through reading member posts, you could feel good about how many were a part.
Like I said, it was an easy way to "belong" and see the club grow. Although "our" numbers here may be relatively small, I believe we are going to experience the same growth. Once a year, the "Star Riders" organized a huge rally. It was a way of fellowship and making new friends from across the nation. Let's face it, we all have this commonality that few people understand when it comes to our MINIS.

Cooperman,
I'm not sure if I fully comprehend you're suggestion. We do have member numbers. They just don't really get used anywhere in the forums. They appear in the Member List - where, by the way, there are over 3,900 registered MINIACS on MCO!!!

On the Syclone Typhoon list my husband is on, they usually sign their messages and emails with the number of their truck. For instance, my Typhoon is Typhoon number 0631. It is the last 4 digits of the VIN number. Hubby has like 2000 something Syclone. One guy even has his digits on his license number.
I think it would be fun to figure out if our vin numbers have any indication of what number MINI we have.
