Need Help! VIDEO - Squeaky belt, popping tensioner
Hi, I haven't posted much, but I use this forum quite often.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with what's wrong with my 2004 MCS?
The tensioner popping started out more intermittent, so I replaced the tensioner set ($82). It still did it and my indy shop said there is probably friction/rubbing with one pulley, so I replaced the idler pulley ($22).
The belt still "pops" or "bounces" on the tensioner. Now it's constant and the belt squeaks. The alternator pulley and AC pulley spin freely without binding and look like they spin fine when running.
The crank shaft pulley looks a bit wobbly, but would that make the tensioner "pop" and belt squeak? My shop said when the crank pulley goes it usually burns the rubber and then spins freely (essentially useless). I do have the original crank shaft pulley, the thick rubber on the end. I don't see any cracks in the rubber, but it is a bit rusty.
I want to fix it, but don't want to keep throwing money at it. I assume, if I've replaced the tensioner/idler pulleys, AC/alt pulleys spin fine - it has to be either the crank shaft pulley or supercharger? Any shop experts that can identify this? Please?
THANKS!
I can take another video if needed, this one isn't great....
