Does Anyone Know What This Is?

There is this logo beneath the Cooper S badging. It almost looks like a flag but I have no idea. It's blue with a yellow X.

Any ideas?

Also, it's a metal badge and is adhered the same way as the rest of the badging.

Weird... Any idea why that would be on there? It looks like it's factory as its faded similarly to the Mini badge.

More than likely it was added by a previous owner gotten from a site like this:

Motor on!

I bet it's a Scottish flag where the white paint has faded to yellow--a common issue with oil based white paint that's exposed to sun.

Definitely a Scottish flag. You can get metal badges from all over the place (see link in post above). The owner added it at asome point.

+ 1 added a Scottish flag to the boot ( trunk ) lid.

People like to add locations or flags to there MINIs.

You can use the heat and dental floss method to remove the badge , most likely with double sided 3M tape. Rubbing compound to remove the fading.

Yes that is St Andrews cross the flag of Scotland as well as one of three crosses that make up the British union flag, wrongly called the "union jack" (its only should be called that when flown at sea) the others are St Georges cross of England and St Patrick's Ireland, most likely the previous owner had Scottish ancestors that emigrated or where transported to the colonies.

Or drip some "Goof-Off" adhesive remover on the top edge and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then slide dental floss behind the badge and using a sawing motion, get through the adhesive. More Goof-Off and elbow grease will clean it up nicely.

If it leaves a mark on the paint you could stick a Confederate flag over it,

Goof Off will not harm the paint. I used it when I removed the original spoiler on mine. It is citrus based.

Yes for like removing the rear or front MINI Wings badge , if it has the same double sided 3M tape.
