So the throttle body unit on my 2006 MCS died yesterday ..only 35,500 miles are these a common issue to go bad in 1st Gen R53 ????.....Having my local auto body place that specializes in Import cars do the work and he has worked on Mini's before ...Total cost with labor is 500.00...seems right because the part itself is close to 300.00 plus the Labor to install ....Only good thing about this is i bought the car Used on Feb13 2015 and the dealership i bought it at has a 90-Day powertrain Warranty so im covered! Made it by 1day ...lol

The throttle body is not hard to replace, most of the time you might get a CEL and the code will read throttle position error and point to the throttle body which is not clipped in all the way. Reclip it in and its fixed. Make sure the plug is making contact with the pins. Most of the time that's the problem. If that's still does not work then its the throttle body. Did you get a TBP error location error ? Glad it was covered
