R50/53 18x7.5 ET45 Pushing it?

18x7.5 ET45 Pushing it?
Hey guys,
So i want to get some wheels on my 2005 Mini Cooper r50. I am already setting my mind on 17x7.5 with 215/40/17 tires. But the wheels i want are now offering 18s. Too much? Riding on a stock suspension for now. Not gonna get any coilovers any time soon. Maybe a year from now. Student on a budget. But i saw some 17s at chic-fil-a the other day and i dont know if it was the tire/wheel combo they chose or maybe it was just the style of the wheels. But it made the wheel set up look not much different from stock wheels. If you need a link I'll post it.
