MINI/LUK OEM flywheel differences

What is the difference between OEM MINI flywheel and the LUK that is much less expensive? LUK makes the OEM flywheel correct? If so are they the same except for the MINI name stamped on it?

They are the same , also depends what year , model , some years Sach was the Genuine MINI version, and some years Valeo is the one used as Genuine. Come with the throw out, just not shown in the pics. Luk, Sach, and Valeo as used through the years and Generations. Valeo does have the DMF - SMF R53 Cooper S , R52 Cooper S kits which is going from the dual mass to the single mass. One of the few times a factory supplier made a retrofit kit .

Thanks for the info. If the flywheels are the same I'll just get the LUk unit.
My throwout bearing failed without warning, knocked a hole in the transmission case, sprayed everything inside the bell housing with gear oil. Luckly I didn't run the gearbox dry. I'm replacing everything inside the bell housing including the crank and input shaft seal and going to have a machine shop weld the hole. The teardown starts tomorrow.

Welcome. Yea I would get the seal and the guide tube. Check the fork and might as well replace those ( pivot nylon ) bush bearings on the fork. Post up some pics of the rebuild , this help the DIY'ers on the forum.

Good luck and I hope everything goes well, is a bit of a job.
