Agreed, that's why both are on their way to me next week lol. They are both so simple to install, and they are needed with the conditions of the roads in my area.

Nice Mod Mini on YouTube has a instalation video of the UTI's. Not that they are hard to install, but it is good reference and shows how easy it is.

You're not kidding... his videos make wrenching on a MINI not so intimidating at first

Is there any way to "undo" the mushrooming if it occurs?

2X4, sledge hammer and a jack. Jack up the front corner, put the 2X4 on top of the tower and beat it flat. Put the STDs on right away so it does not happen again.

Yeah! Wish I had found his videos and bought tools before paying the dealership 405.00 to install my pulley.

Ouch, that's insane! Even never diving into the car that far, it only took 2 hours to install the pulley and change my oil. I hate dealership pricing.

Yeah just a little too much IMO!!

My next projects are going to be done in my own garage. (Poor Mans JCW brake kit, all around suspension upgrade, PS Leak Fix, and Trans fluid change)

I am eastern Canada and the roads are brutal, so I did a combo of the strut plates underneath and then the M7 strut tower brace. It was mushroomed pretty bad and did have to bang it back into place. The other issue I had was the strut mount bolts were two short for this setup, so I also had to replace the strut mount bolts for longer ones. Since then I have hit some real bad potholes and no issues at all! I used the plates under the strut tower from MINI MANIA and then of course the M7 strut brace. Now that I have it done I don't have that sick feeling in my stomach when the car bottoms out with a bang that I just broke something.
