Engine mounts

After experience a lot of engine movement, crappy gear changes and NVHs I decided to change my lower engine mount. I installed my Vibra technics torque link (as they call it), and I could not be any happier. ( a 30min DIY)

Ps: pardon my english, I'm from Venezuela.

Now, when I took the car for the test drive I could immediately feel a bit of vibrations in the steering wheel but nothing alarming, in fact fewer than friends with bushes. The braking period for an engine mount should be around 1000 miles (stop and go). The benefit from this mount is that, in comparison with the powerflex bushes and other similar mounts, the mount has rubber instead of plastic, and all the vibrations are filter. They have lifetime warranty and they are pure car ****.

After my r53 got the Inj+1320 catcam+ bytetronik tune I could not stop driving the car, heck the freaking mini just pulls and pulls. I end up trashing my lower engine mount, but now with the vibra technics all the power is put to the ground properly, the car has less understeer, and the gear changes are smooth as silk.

I am a student on a budget and understand that maybe a 180$ engine mount is not what most people go for. One thing I learn from my previous cars is that when it comes to modifications, you pay for what you get, this mount connects every aspect of the car. I had read all the thread here and other forums, I am not a vendor, simply a motorhead that want his R53 to perform as perfect as possible.

Take my advice, spend the bucks and forget about mounts again. You can find them on outmotoring.com, vibratechnics.com/us and colin greene performnace (dont know him but read a lot from mini torque and this forum), and others. Contact Mike from Mynes/Bytetronik to get your power mods as well, they are vendors in this site.

Cheers,

PAHG
