Dear colleagues,

I am writing from the beautiful city of Oxford, birthplace of the Mini. Although I am here on business, I had hopes of visiting the factory. Unfortunately, BMW has no open door policy at the moment. They did say they are planning to open in the future, similar to their other manufacturing locations.

I am very happy to report the presence of every flavor of Mini that you can possibly imagine on the streets here. Those of you waiting for an S should know that the wait list is no better here! Everyone seems to be treated about the same. Original Minis are even more common.

If you come here, know that there are several other worthy auto attractions nearby. The Bristish Heritage Museum, housing a good part of the British auto history is located in nearby Gaydon. Also, the adjoining town of Abingdon is the home of the legendary MG marque. If you come, be sure to check this out, and have an Old Speckled Hen beer while you enjoy the sights. The legendary Silverstone Raceway is right up the A34, only 20 minutes away. Finally, do not ignore the cultural, educational and historical significance of the city.

Sorry for you that you could not go in the factory. I did so last year with the bord members of bmw, it was one of the most thrilling expierence I have done, visiting businesses. It is for sure the latest factory with this hightech machinery for the car industry. Hope you enjoy Oxford!
