My mini's coming unglued! First the leather wrap around the gear shifter (auto transmission) came unglued (leather just hangs on the **** know and came completely out of the plastic thing that holds it. What's up with that?

Then, while driving on a freeway, I heard a flapping noise (sunroof was open) - I stopped the care and came out to find that the rubber gaslket in front (between the roof and windsheild) is flapping and almost gone out of its groove. I tucked it back in, but in a short while it did it again. So I removed it alltogether and now my poor Mini is vulnerable to weather. Not to mention all the dust and stuff that can get into the gear box!

Did anyone lese experience disarttachment of parts like this and what glue shuld I use to put it back together? To go to the dealer 80 miles away just for that seems unnecessary. But it is kind of a bummer that the Mini is coming unglued!

 

Yes, after 2 weeks that plastic gasket un the upper side came loose, it was fixes the same day at the dealer, 2 miles from home.
But that is not all, here is a list of the troublees experienced so far, the car has 1800 km say 1100 miles
- Heater blower was replaced
- Spill of coolant
- Passenger door is a different color (not settled yet !!!)
- Heated seat not working on pass side
- Rear light is not water tight
- Driver door does not open from inside
- Do I forget something? There are so many
