#4 -- Stiff suspension and wide track stablize car during pesky earthquakes?

Boston is indeed crawing with 'em too; but I really can't come up with any convenient reasons for that.

Yeah, I was wondering why NJ has one of the highest household income in the nation? I've been to NJ once in my younger days but what kind of jobs are out there now to have such a high income level?

Its def. hard to find reg. parking in that area, BUT there are spaces ONLY the MINI can fit, like between driveways, my fav. We are just able to make it..... its so cool that sometimes home owners come out and either agree that I rock for fitting into the space or they get jealous and want to try and give me a hard time. MINIs rule!

Does the California Pacific allow public parking around there? If so, just drive up to Webster and Clay and park in the garage. Not sure if you're a San Franciscan or not but living here 40 years has taught me the value of find a spot even several blocks away from my destination.

At 146 inches, it fits almost everywhere.

Those folks in the midwest were thinking the same thing a couple of weeks ago! Or was that, it felt like an airplane hit my house!

I believe CP charges for parking. I always have to find a spot around Alta Plaza.

I drove my MCS up to SF last yr. We were staying in Pacific Heights, so I was a little nervous about those hills . But everything worked out just fine. What a great city!

Think commute to Manhattan - Wall Street, finance types, physicians in NYC hospitals. NJ also has some corporate HQ's - pharmaceutical companies, BMW NA to name a few. Then you have south Jersey, commuters to Philly. There are some extremely wealthy areas in NJ, home to various CEO's, entertainers and sports stars as well.

Even after the big one, the prices soared back up after a few years. Even after the WTC terrorist attacks and the economy dropped, it still remained stable and headed upwards.

BTW, why does Noe Valley have such bad streets considering it's one of the better neighborhoods in San Francisco!!
Hey meanboy,

Do you live in Noe Valley? My wife and I lived there for almost ten years before moving to Sacramento. We lived on Grandview overlooking the valley, then on Fair Oaks near dolores and 22nd. We miss it a lot and are looking for job possibilities to return. Looks like we will fit right in with our new MINI. Have a great burrito and agua fresca at Taqueria San Jose on Mission Street for me!

Cheers,

Pete F.

I hate to say it, but I secretly hope for the same thing at times. I'll never forget being in the upper deck at Candlestick for the 89 World Series quake.

Cheers,

Pete F.

Hahah, will do. We like the La Taquira on 25th and Mission. Excellent Quesadas and then go to Diandras and buy a slice of cake. Their cakes are much better then the ones at Noe Valley Bakery and cheaper too. Highly recommended for the discriminating cake eater!

We live on the other side of Mission and I have to go to Noe Valley everyday to drop off my wife. Noe Valley is a bit too much for our wallets. I am not sure if the job market is better in SF yet. The Sac area has exploded in population and in price. Were you able to buy something there before it went through the roof?

We bought a while ago and sold a couple of years ago. We made some good $ but nothing like we would have made if we were selling now. We took all of our profits and spent all of 2003 and some of 2004 traveling around the world. We are back at work now and we are happy living in an apartment because it involves no yard work or $ spent on repairs etc. We held back enough $ to get our Cooper S and are pretty happy living the Northern California life. Maybe we'll have a chance to get together at a MINI event or one of our many weekend trips in to The City.

Cheers,

I drive opposite traffic.... I leave for work at about 3pm-4pm wednesday, thursday, and friday. I usually take 580-84(Airway) out to 680 up to Scott Creek Rd in Milpitas and drive backroads until I get to work.

It's good you got to enjoy your profits. I anticipate that whenever we sell we'll probably just roll it back into another place. The bad thing about S.F. houses is that they are all old, and that usually means repairs, as you mentioned. Northern Cal is a nice place...glad you enjoy it!

Perhaps, we'll get a chance to meet at an event. I am considering Sears Point on the 17th or 18th. Which reminds me, I better get some tickets and soon.

Cheers!

Sounds good. You don't work in NOC, do you? Just asking because it sounds like how our NOC is run.
