Trailing a biker..

Just a little footage from a weekend stint up Route 1. It's around 30MB and 4 minutes long, so dial-up beware! It's a 320x240 Divx 5.01 avi.

Rune Footage 1

If this works, let me know what you think, and whether I should put some cuts or dissolves in future footage submissions. This is my first try testing out Premiere and the attached camera! Hope you all enjoy it!

PS. It was a lot faster in person.. I guess I have to lower the camera a bit more to give more sense of speed. And maybe my compression is a bit wonky. Any tips?

The Divx codec to play it is here. Scroll down the page to get the standard free divx codec.

I'd love to take a look, but the free Codex loads gator onto your machine. I hate adware. Have you considered another format?

You dont need the entire DivX suite to simply watch a DivX encoded file, just the codec. The codec by itself is free, there is no adware (SCUMWARE). The ad-supported free 'suite' contains it.

Free codec only:http://download.divx.com/divx/DivX511.exe

Good footage! Where was this taken?

Lowering the camera does tend to accentuate the speed sensation, as does including engine sounds and, well, driving faster.

For a first attempt, it looks good!

Nice work! That looks like a really fun road. I especially like the gradually climbing twisties near the end of the footage. Mmmm

Where was the camera mounted?

I trusted your advice and downloaded the Codex. Thanks. Very, very, very nice run. I could almost taste it.

Thanks! I've got a bit more footage that I'm putting together, it's the beginning of catching up with the biker. It's got a bit more twisties, and I'll put in some cuts or something. I have other footage that's from the rear bumper, left side skirt, right side skirt, and interior. Going to try my hand at putting a decent edit together.

The road is coastal Route 1 in California, in Marin County. The camera was mounted right directly above the bonnet scoop.
