R50/53 10k Miles in 2 months
10k Miles in 2 months
I think I've set some kind of record. I just finished my long long trip across the country and back, I should probably add more pictures to my gallery. I crossed 10k miles today driving somewhere in Maryland, only about 2 months after getting my MCS.
Oh, and you might remember how I posted about driving the dragon a few weeks ago. Well, I've found a road that I think is better than the Dragon. California 1, 22 miles from where it ends in N Cali, where it heads from the coast across some hills to meet up with 101. 22 miles of switchbacks and tight corners. Its not as well paved as the dragon, but I found it much more intense, and its twice as long. So if for some crazy reason you're in Northern California or want to drive up California 1, hit the northern most 22 miles, its lots of fun.

I just returned home to SoCal around Memorial Day from Cross-Country Roadtrip #2 (although I did have companions this time--didn't go solo). Also went to the MINIs on the Dragon (co-hosted the Dragon's Breath Chili Cook-Off), and now have 33.2K miles on the clock! FUN!!!!!!
Motor on!

I LOVE that section of road--hit it on my own X-country trip last summer!
Never ran the dragon, though... can't imagine a more intense road (kind of frightens me in that "fight or flight" tingly sort of way) but would love to try it!
