the spot in the black box that I have added to the photo, in the 6 to 8" long area with a finger slot and two circular clips. what goes here?

 

A pen goes in the long slot and sunglasses go in the other. If you feel the bottom of the sunglasses holder it is soft foam.

 

I tried putting a pen in there and it seemed kinda tight.

I knew about the sunglasses spot, I find it a pain to use for my glasses so they just end up thrown in the cup holder.

The pen has to be the skinnier type for it to fit well. Pens explode here in Arizona when left inside a car. Needless to say I don't put a pen there now. I would be afraid to put glasses in the holder for fear that they would get scratched by something else in the glovebox sliding around. I guess you could put them in a cloth case.

 

Yeah I have a pen in the Manual Pouch, there is a loop in the fold, the wife bought me one of the MINI pens from the dealer that has the car floating so it looks like its driving when you turn it up.

 

Wife sounds like a keeper! I got my JCW because my wife knew I had looked at them and we drove to the Mercedes dealer to have her car serviced. They had it displayed and she told me I should go buy it. So I did.

 

those clips also hold a tire pressure gauge. ive used it for both for a pen, or that. same size anyway.
