Spending too much time w/MINI

Ever since the delivery of the MINI in January, my life seems to evolve around the MINI. Besides the joy of driving, I find myself always doing stuff to the MINI, like modding, installing, washing, cleaning, waxing, detailing, etc. Most ridiculous of all, I often sit in the garage or inside the car and just stare at the MINI with a .

I have an uncontrollable obsession with my MINI! How about other MINI enthusiasts? Do you spend too much time with your MINI?

To make sure I'm still somewhat normal and not possessed by MINI madness...

This is a point of contention for my wife. Good thing she does not frequent NAM. I spend way too much time with my MINI whether it be in body or in mind. If I am not with the car chances are good that I am either talking about it or reading goMINI, Motoringfile, or NAM. It was real bad the last two years before I got the thing...its even worse now.

I don't think a MINI owner can spend too much time with their MINI. It's like a child, the more time you spend the better it knows you and you know it. If you raise it right it will be your pride and joy.

My wife disagrees with this, however, and says I spend too much time with my MINI and on NAM.

I spend about 90% of my free time with my cars. The remaining 10%

is here at NAM.

Ladies like MINIs too.

I wonder how many husbands are wondering why their wives are spending too much time with their MINIs?

Maybe women have good sense?
On the other hand there is shopping.

MINI obsession? Sure.
MINI enthusiast? Absolutely.
I'm not on the earth long enough to wonder if I spend to much time doing MINI stuff. Just do it- (if it makes you happy).

Here is an exercise sure to get you into withdrawal.
Rent a car or trade with a friend and drive that car for a week (no looking at your MINI). Go back to your MINI and see how you like it.
There is a reason why you like your MINI.

My MINI, in a way I did not forsee, brought a whole new type of hobby into my life. Chatting with you all, meeting other local enthusiasts, detailing my MINI....its all good....but, frankly, its not something I was into before. Ya have to respect and love a little car that can generate so much good stuff. I do hope the ladies will understand.

Met my wife in a Miata club. She drives the MINI everyday now. I get it on Fridays and weekends... sounds like visitation rights! So, having your wife loving the MINI may mean less time behind the wheel.

This is a great thread. My wife doesn't understand my obsession. She's learning to tolerate it, and is always amused to meet wives of other obsessed MINI owners, and see the similarities. I think we just need to get all the wives together and let them vent among each other.

One of the common complaints I hear is why don't I spend some of that energy cleaning my MINI and clean the house.

My wife is totally into shopping. The only thing she cares about in a car is its abilility to transport her to the mall and more importantly, have plenty of space to haul all the shopping goods home.

I think we just need to get all the wives together and let them vent among each other.
Just make sure to keep them out of the shopping malls.

Ah spend moh time in NAM than with ole PKT RKT but that's cuz I am a great mechanic and it don't take long for me do do a mod . I do find that lately I have been spending a lot of time laying under PKT RKT either cleaning the underside or pondering evil suspension mods......does it take all of mah time....not al all...I do have other children....there's a race car to take care of, an old 190 SL not to mention maintaining the fleet.........as to madam treasurer......as long as I get permission to spend the money, she don't mind....as I keep teling her....I could be going out to bars and carrying on with wild women instead......

My 03 MCS is the only car that I have ever owned where I take the time to pick the bugs out of the radiator after each drive

What? you don't pick the bugs out? If you REALLY loved your MINI you would
