R50/53 Timing Chain Issue?

Timing Chain Issue?
I have a 2004 MINI Cooper S "R53" Whenever I hit the game theres a knocking coming out of the passenger side of the engine. when accelerating it gets faster and faster. I was told that it might be a timing chain? If anyone has had this problem and can help out I would appreciate it. I just recently bought the car (2 Weeks) and I want to get everything up to date and sound. I LOVE MY MINI
