Failed Mishimoto

Hi,

My Mishimoto radiator isn't very old. Seems like 3 months, maybe 6.

Anyway, it's leaking already!

Is this a common problem?

Does anyone have experience with Mishimoto's warranty claims?

These radiators are junk In my opinion, a lot if people in the e36 world run these because of the awesome warranty. They will replace it as many times as need be for life. Some go through a couple. A good product wouldn't need replacing in the first place, especially when they cost $400.

I had one in the car for about a year before it failed. Good news is the warranty is really painless. They ship a new one out no questions asked and don't make you ship the old one back.

Yes, the fact we have a lifetime warranty means that we are here for any and all of our customers whenever needed. Things happen in life. It's nice to know that a company is supportive if anything comes up.

Thanks,
-Pat

Absolutely. It came with the car when I bought it. Hoping this one lasts longer than a year..

Seriously. It's not exactly an easy job on the MINI either. That would **** me right off.

Thanks Pat, I appreciate the reply. I'm glad to learn that the warranty process is pretty painless. So far I am delayed, because I need to log in to ECS Tuning to reprint my past order invoice. I hope that will suffice for a sales receipt.

I remember opening a new hotel a few years back, it had 250 rooms and we had about 5 or 6 of everything fail in the first few months, phones, fridges, TV's, you name it. It was a nice hotel with quality products but it seems that 2% or 3% failure of brand new products is just life.

I do remember last summer that my operating temp with the Mishimoto was always pretty low when cruising along. In fact it took a fair amount of effort on my part to get the temp to climb high enough to test low speed fan, like holding a 2000rpm for several minutes while parked. When the fan did come on, the temp dropped so quickly it amazed me. That Mishimoto really did it's job well. -Last week I installed a temporary cheap radiator (because I was having MINI withdraws). I tested it after burping all air out like I did before, and while I suppose the stock size plastic radiator is sufficient, it's not nearly as impressive as the Mishimoto's performance, which I'll want to have for spirited drives on hot summer days.

Regards,
Alex
