R50/53 R50 interior door panels & spoiler ?'s
R50 interior door panels & spoiler ?'s
Just bought an '02 R50 a few weeks ago and I am almost done with the "personalization" of it - see my Gallery.
1) I'd like to repaint the silver oval trim and grab bars with the same Rustoleum Hammered Finish paint I used on the dash, speaker covers and dash columns. Your thoughts on removing the parts by breaking the "weld" points and re-attaching them with screws or better to mask off everything and spray them out?
2) Just curious: does the stock R50 spoiler make any real difference in performance?
Thanks,
Gerry

Mask...sand...spray....or you have create a creaking monster....and a handle might fall off in your hands....
Painting plastic parts that FLEX can be iffy with paints that do not have a flexing/bonding agent is is iffy...so prep extra well IMO. It is pretty easy to remove the panels.... So painting should be easy.

Thanks for the advice. The more I look into removing and reinstalling the handles - the better that masking, sanding and painting look.
I am thinking of removing the spoiler when I get around to re-painting the roof Chili red.
