Mini down (clutch)
About a month or so back the clutch in my 05 basic cooper started squealing as I depressed the pedal,it got worse and now is really loud and wont go easily into gear and when it does car wants to move while pedal is still depressed.I would like to hear from people who have done the clutch repair .Where to get the parts? Have looked at Mini Mania and Pelican, like to hear from others. Thanks

I wouldn't do MIni mania they are overprice but that's just me. pelican, Way M works,ECS,Outmotoring etc...they are all good with fair prices.
It took me about 3 weeks working mostly on weekends and some weekdays for a a couple of hours at times, you could do it in a day.... A very long day lol also I had to wait about 10 days for the clutch to show up, 112.00 shipped from parts geek LUK.
Follow Pelican parts how to and others around the web
It's not to bad. If it's your only car then you may want to pay someone to do it quickly. If you do it yourself take your time. Some things I did that helped:
-Put every bolt back into the hole it came out of to keep track of them.
-Took pics with the camera on my phone when trying to memorize the routing of wires and hoses
-drop as much of the subframe as you can in one piece (don't bother taking the hubs off)
-clear a large space to store parts, a lot of my car was in my basement while I was doing this work.
-Plan ahead and replace other things like the weepy o-ring on the crank angle sensor, oil pan gasket if leaking, water pump, check SC oil, put in limited slip diff if you are planning on tracking or auto crossing, shifter cables etc.
Good luck!
