Somewhat sad, but finally parted with our MINI.
Ordered/purchased new.
base S with only multifunction steering wheel added.
CarMax sale = very fair offer and very easy process- proved that time was well spent cleaning the interior and exterior. Spent all of about $50 on cleaning supplies and lessons learned from watching Wheeler Dealers paid off!
Cheers to all here. I'll still be checking in periodically. This is one of if not the best car forum on the web.
Cheers,
Greg

WOW. Sold our mini to carmax for $9,000
We were happy with that.
I went back looking to sell another vehicle and saw our MINI Cooper on the lot with a sticker price of...
$14,998.00
WOW...Whaaaa?
If they can get that price, good on them, but if there are people actually willing to pay that much for such a used vehicle, they're uninformed or crazy.

JCW, maybe, but a stock S with only a multifunction steering wheel and almost 60,000 miles? I think their price is around only $3k below new msrp back in 2006.
Greg
2006 MINI Cooper S base prices (including destination charges) were $21,150 (September 2005) and $21,450 (March 2006).
Still doesn't change my contention that $15k's quite a bit high...but...not my problem anymore!!! Just found it interesting.
