I have over 2k kilometers on my 04MC and I was wondering if it's time for the first maintanance appointment.
when did u have ur first done?

Go out to your MINI turn the key one click to "on" the odometer will briefly say how many
miles,kms,till next service/oil change :smile:

 

The first maintanence is usually around 11,000 miles. You have a ways to go.

There are some of us who do oil changes early from 2000 miles to 5000 miles even though the first scheduled oil change is not until about 10,000 to 12,000 miles. MINI recommends a change based on the readings from your speedometer gauge on the dash- just check how many miles there are shown when you start up your MINI.

The reason for the earlier oil change is to get out any metal shavings or contaminants there might be early on.
That oil change is at your expense but is not going to do any harm to the MINI.

After the first oil change the next one is about 25,000 miles.

Just keep motoring along, you are barely out of the starting gate. 1200 miles to do break in.
