Every now and then, maybe once a year, the passenger window will not power down. When I hit the switch on the dash, I can heard a click near the speaker.
I have hit the spot near the speaker, knowing for some people it helps, but not for me. Does this indicate the eventual failure for good, of the window motor?

Yes, but mine have been like this for a few years now and they still haven't given up the ghost.
Some people have had success with taking out the motor and cleaning the brushes, but it's a bit of trouble to do.

 

If I am going to go through all the trouble to clean the brushes, I am just going to replace it. But I guess if money is an issue, then I probably would do the same.
Luckily I was able to rap on the door and got it to work. At first I just hit the door by the speaker and it didn't work and I thought, okay I have a job ahead of me.
