Mini Madness Strut Reinforcment plates question

In the pelican article it says to torque the bolts to 25 f/lbs. What if your towers are already mushroomed? Can you torque it more to correct them?

I'm not even 100% sure mine are mushroomed but I drive in NYC a lot and my car gets slammed so I imagine it has to be getting there if not already.

Also if I bought new struts, do they come with new strut mounts as well? in the event that mine are bent. I don't want to spend $300 on strut mounts if they come with a set of struts or coilovers.

I over torqued mine to un-mushroom the mounts then loosened them to proper torque. However I stripped one of the bolts so this isn't a fool proof plan. I was able to simply add a few washers to the stripped bolt to raise the nut so I could re-torque.

My Koni yellow shocks did not come with new strut mounts.

I ended up buying fixed camber plates which replaces the strut mounts all together and solved the mushrooming problem and improved handling a lot.
