I have a 2003 mcs and the power streering wines when I move the steering wheel . Especially when parking and slow speeds. Anyone know the reason? Thanks in advance

 

All gen1 mini's whine....
In 2005 an updated PS pump that was more quiet was introduced...
So some whine is normal....
Some folks do report the whine can get louder just before failure....so listen for a sudden change might give you a warning the whine may go away....aka, PS pump failure.

There is a lengthy thread on the power steering pump issue elsewhere in NAM. Pump now has 13 year 150,000 mile extended warranty.
