Opinions of Street Headers

Hey Everyone,

I'm looking to buy a Street Header for my 04 MCS. I should've gotten this a while ago, but bought other enhancements first. I'm curious about fellow motorer's experiences with different brands and recommendations. I want it to fit right and not throw my CEL on. My current set up is 17% pulley, Lightweight Crank Pulley, Intake and exhaust... I like the RMW street header, but it says it works best with a high flow head like the Jesus head... Idk if I'm making enough power to utilize it. I mean I have other mods like MSD, Wires, step colder plugs, and ddm air diverter, but I don't think they influence the airflow a whole lot. IDK... just looking for thoughts on this stuff... any help is appreciated

The RMW will work well now, not throw a code, and be ready for more flow when you DO later get a head. DON'T buy one of those cheap $200 Fleabay headers.

Cool... Thank You! I was thinking the same. I think a cam, injectors, and tune are def. in the future. Dk about the Jesus head lol... I def. wouldn't be interested in a crappy ebay header. This is my daily driver. What other options are out there for a street header besides RMW and Milltek?

Bavarian auto has a scorpion manifold on clearance right now. Check out http://bavauto.com

I just put on an obx header myself. Wanted to get the scorpion one but didn't have the funds. With an exhaust leak in the manifold and the box already in hand (bought it 2 yrs ago) it went in. So far it's working great

That's a great price, your sig says you have one too.

It Sucks, I was trying to find something like this last month.
Can you tell me why they (and others) say "off road use only"? If it has a Cat, what's the issue (besides covering their bottoms)

In order to qualify an emissions component such as a header / cat for legal use on public roads, the manufacturer must spend boat loads of money testing and qualifying it for the EPA. For specialty parts for which they will not sell a large quantity, the return on investment is non-existent. So, to prevent the federal gov'ment from imposing huge fines on them, they explicitly state "off road use only" knowing full well that 100% of the people that buy their header will drive the car on a public road at some point.
You cane blame bureaucracy and lawyers.
