This is for all you gurus out there. I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. I got my MCS in February. I do have the stumble and yo-yo but love my car too much to let it bother me. I didn't have any problems until 3 weeks ago. I did some searching on the forums and found out that the Mini does hesitate to start on some occassions, in cold weather, if it's raining, humidity, etc. I didn't think there was a BIG problem because all of the times this happened to me it was rainy or cold out. But recently (about a week), since it's been fairly nice out- up to mid 70s in NOVA, my car hesitates every morning when I start it up (I don't have a garage, so my car sleeps outside). The first time it sounds like it wants to turn over but doesn't. So I turn the key back to off position. Wait a second and try it again. After pumping the gas a few times it turns over and starts. So is this spark plugs, starter or something else I'm forgetting? And does this warrant a dealer visit?

Oh, also- my car has stalled out at red lights before too, but since it was cold and wet out didn't think anything of it. Maybe something related (thinking about this in hindsight)?

Thanks for any input.

Yes - take it to the dealer. mention that a new car should not stall at a light - under almost ANY occasion. I have had zero stalls in 6 months with an MC and 2 weeks with an MCS.

They'll try to fix it for you..
