I have an issue with my keyless entry on my R53, the car can only be unlocked with the key in the door. When I use the button to unlock the car all I get is the indicators flashing but no unlock.

However the car can be locked using the remote. Any takers on what the issue might be?

 

Have you tried clicking the button 2x to see if it is all the doors with the issue?
Sitting in the car does the center console lock/unlock work?

 

And what year r53? These cars did have a few changes overtime.

 

It's a 02, the centre switch works fine. And I just tested the double press on the remote with no doors opening

 

Any ideas anyone?

 

Did the battery ever fully discharge in the fob? They are coded to the car, so maybe with a correct code but for whatever reason the car won't let it. .. might want to look into the thread of programming keyless entry and try re-learning the fob.
