Hello. Is the power steering fluid something unique or can I use anything from parts store? I have a leak and I'm out of town (but closer to a Mini dealer) and it is Easter. So everything is closed except Wallyworld. Advanced auto can get whatever it is for the Mini by the 4th if I order today. Thanks. Brian.

 

If you read the print on the reservoir cap it states CHF11s. I'd stick with what the OEM requires and eliminate all doubt. A liter costs about $21 or so.

 

Putting in "regular" ps fluid or tranny fluid will likly cause you a steering rack failure when the seals leak...
The correct ps fluid is sold by mini, most vw dealers and some bigger auto parts stores that do lots of forgien cars parts...brand name is petrosin...it is kinda special, a syenthic...and unless you have a leak, you should never have to add more....

Thanks for all the advice and input. I found the last "liter" in 20 miles at
a NAPA for $21. Use nothing else after doing some research. Great site.
