its a little pricey IMO, for what it is, and i think im just going to Make something similar. Dont care for the "larger" extinguishers, and figure i couldnt move the seat too much with one installed, so im going to make the bracket hold one of these bad boys:

but, anyway, has anyone by chance purchased and installed one of the fire extinguisher brackets that I have linked above? the other ones that someone makes (forget who) is really awesome, but i dont want to afford $100+ for such an item

Can understand the reluctance to purchase an expensive fire extinguisher and bracket but, sadly, you get what you pay for. Anything other than HALON or HALOTRON will leave an ungodly mess and will be less effective in extinguishing an automotive fire. As effective as HALON is, a 2-1/2 lb. extinguisher would be the bare minimum I'll carry. Also, when it comes to brackets, it's very important to remember that, in an accident, a loose extinguisher can be a lethal weapon. All our MINI's have the B-K mounts with HALON 2-1/2 lb. except the F150..It has a 5 lb. unit.
