>>Yeah, let's all admit on a public forum, that we're breaking the law... Smart.. Real smart...
>>
>>Not that it would happen, but legally Marc would have to provide your user information to a Law Enforcement Agency if subpeaned...

I meant stuff like undersized fish. Looks like the Game Warden will be knocking at my door tonight.

You really have set me straight Mbabishkin.

Regardless,

Honestly I don't care what you do, I'm just trying to remind people that this is a VERY public forum. Your handle provides VERY little privacy, and that people should really think long and hard about posting stuff that in reality they shouldn't be publicizing...

Do I think somebody's going to come kick down your door because you admit that your tint is illegal, or you're missing a front plate... No I don't... Am I going to turn you in, No I'm not, I really don't care myself..

But there was the member who posted on here, that they were drag racing on a Chicago area roadway one evening, posted the road and the location and the time, and admitted that they were busted by an officer for doing well in excess of 100 MPH, and then wanted to fight the ticket, and was looking for help with a defense. Not a problem except that he provided ALL of the details on the incident so that in combination with publically available court documents, it was very possible to link the NAM user name with the crime, and now in the public domain was an admission of guilt for an incident that person was going to plead not guilty for, as well as a discussion of a possible defense...

But there are people on here that are in fact posting enough information on this board to link their vehicles with them, thereby completely destroying their anonymity. I'm not saying don't make modifications to your vehicle that may not be legal in your municipality, what I'm saying is don't brag about it on a public board on the internet when you have no idea who may be looking in...

BTW don't be surprised if some police departments do lurk on the various enthusiast boards, especially those jurisdictions that have drag racing problems... Fairfax County VA does it all the time...

No tint, can't see in, can't see out. I'm with most folks here...problem with lead foot and curves. I've had Msfit for over a year now and am pretty lucky that I haven't been pulled over once (knock on wood). Highways are the most tempting for me as the prevailing problem with this little magnet is that it attracts a crowd and pretty soon I'm blocked in. So, naturally, when the clear horizon presents itself, we're OUTTA THERE...and that usually means ending up on the other side of 120 Of course, getting off the highway is another problem because there are so few turns in Metro Det area, off ramps are just too tempting to pass up. And if the timing is correct, the light will be green at the bottom while everyone is stopped on both sides while we come through sideways, screaching tires, throttle blippn, heal/toen', butt hangin out in the air for the whole world to see ...ZERO time to look for cops. I just pray and it's worked out so far If I do ever get pulled over, it won't be for somethin' stupid like tinted windows...I'll definitely get my money's worth

According to my cop friends, as long as you're not obstructing the plate, it's ok. I did that too when I had "UBERMINI" plate (two dots on top of U).

My MINI is legal, but I used to have a '68 Z28 Camaro (many moons ago!) in which I installed a switch under the dash that would cut off all the rear lights (brake, tag, turn sigs, etc.) with a flip of the switch.

Came in real handy if John Law wanted to play !

Of course, I NEVER would do such a thing nowadays. . .

Ha.....to revive an ancient thread found accidentally in an un-related search! haha.....anyway, this reminds me of a story I heard this week about a forum here called 'skylines australia'. A member posted his mod list to his R33 GT-R Skyline, and the following weekend the cops were at one of their track days. They confronted him with the printout from the thread and his car was made unroadworthy on the spot! Scary stuff!!

Just a legal pointer, cops make traffic stops so they can get up close and personal with you and have a good look, pry a consent search out of you or a dog sniff of you and your vehicle. Also is a chance to run the occupants for pending legal problems, warrants, DL suspensions, Drugs or Paraphernalia, etc.

Why do I want to give them ANY plain and obvious reason to stop my car? They have GUNS, they use them at times and S*** happens every day out there. I read police reports day in and out.

BE SAFE, it's a dangerous world we live in, everywhere.

I wish the truck space was less exposed. I'm always they might drive by and see the dead hookers back there.

Heavy right foot #1. Tinted windows, no front plate and questionable taste.

Thanks LombardStreet. I was looking for a different paint scheme for my Jet Black MCSC.

Stripes? We don't need no stinking stripes.
