P 1477-- will this ever go away?
(2003 R53, 114k miles)
Have any of us had the dreaded P1477 code and lived to tell about it?
This is apparently the pump reed switch for the leak detection system. I had the dealer replace the pump which had failed internally according to the notes, which resolved the fault (according to the notes). The same code is back.
I have heard everything from "the new pump probably failed" to "have them check all the vacuum hoses" to "slather it in jelly and feed it to bears". Either way, all I really know is that I have just spent nearly a month's spare cash flow on resolving the check engine light only to have it come back literally 10 miles from the dealer-- after hours, of course-- naturally I'll be going back on Monday but I'm wondering, what should I expect from here?
