transmission service

Hey guys,

I thought i should change the transmission fluid on my 2006 mini cooper s auto ( 73,000 miles) for preventive maintaince.

One of the local shop quoted me this,

"Transmission service with filter run 389.00 plus taxes. I dont do drain and fill because that only gets half the fluid out . Thats not a true service thats just a waste of money. Car holds 10 quarts of fluid only taking 5 and putting 5 back in what about the other dirty 5 that is still in there. We do a flush with filter change that gets all 10 quarts. "

Should i do it?

Don't do it. You can do it yourself like the rest of us much cheaper.
