Get the white roof. A contrasting roof makes it stand out more from all the various shades of silver and gray on the majority of cars of all makes.

Opinions, everybody's got one....and remember, second guessing your color choice is part of the game.

DS with a BLACK roof. Goes best with sunroof black pillars and tint. OR you can get what YOU want.

I have a MC with pure silver and black roof. I really like it but don't want black. It has dust on it if it is outside for more than 10 minutes.

I went with the red/red look and really like the solid color. However, when someone asked if my S was a Honda I quickly added bonnet and boot stripes which really look great. I would buy what you like and not to satisfy others' tastes. What you really need is some way to eventually get the silly grin off of you face after you drive it.

One more thing........BONNET STRIPES along with the white roof makes the contrast very striking and nicely balanced, especially with white side mirrors.....more of a fun look too.

Wow, that's wierd. Here in SF, CA it's exactly the opposite. DS/W is the most common color scheme by far (I see at least 2 every day), but I have yet to see a DS/DS on the road.

(I have a DS/DS arriving next week, btw.)

I think to make DS/DS really work, you need to go with DS mirror caps as well. That's my current plan.

I was thinking if I went with DS/DS I might get chrome mirrors.

It depends on what look you like or are going for. I like the white roof with it thats is going to be part of a contrast them like white wheels stripes etc. If you want to be more subltle and have chrome acents wheels grill mirrors I think the all grey with that is really cool.

I saw a all grey cooper on the highway the other day with chrome wheels and it looked awesome.

I'm getting DS/B in two weeks. I personally like that combo much better than DS/W. I also want to get black wheels.

I tend to like DS/B. Us November Clubbers call it "Stealth MINI". It's cool, while being HOT Did I mention it's dead sexy too

As you can see, there are as many opinions about MINIs as there are MINI owners! My advice is for you to not listen to the advise of others, but to look at cars and pictures and decide which combination pleases you the most.

My preferences were:
Chili Red/White or Liquid Yellow/White (tied for first choice)
Dark Silver/Black or Dark Silver/Dark Silver (tied for second choice)

As you can see from my sig pics, I went with ds/w .One word : VISIBILITY! I too think that one of the sine qua non(without which nothing) characteristics of any mini cooper ,old or new , is the white corresponding roof, but this is your car and it should reflect what YOU want. Peace

I'm sure you'll hear that the white roof is more in line with the "classic Mini" look. Personally, I prefer a solid color.

His, Chile RED over, Madness intake, Magnaflow exhaust, Helix 15% Pulley & RDR Swaybar
Hers, Electric Blue / Union Jack on top and BONE Stock

If you read all of what I wrote, DS/White is fairly common (I see PS/B the most, followed by CR/W, then DS/W), but I always see it (DS/W) with the silver v-spokes or silver s-lites. To date, my MINI is the only DS/W that I have seen with the white v-spokes.

If you like the look of a car with a tacked-on, cheap, plastic roof, then yes, I'd agree...

I saw a pic of a all dark silver with chrome mirrors and I think that made my decision. I am getting the chrome mirrors for sure.
