Loctite needed for brake service
Finished replacing the brake pads this weekend and now I am hearing I should have used loctite on the Carrier bolts.
Do I need to add some blue loctite to the carrier bolts removed with the 7mm allen socket or are they referencing the caliper bolts that are removed when changing the brake disc?
Thanks !

Probably won't hurt but I have not seen one reference to the pins backing out.
I did my own brake's long ago and have had no problems with the pins just good and tight.

Thanks, I can sleep better now
I am assuming the bolts that need to replaced and/or loctited are the ones holding the caliper bracket to the hub torqued to 60 plus pounds.
Now I have to change the rear caliper dust seal, wonder if it can be done by pushing out the piston 1/2 way after removing the caliper/pads while it is still attached to the brake line.

I can't be quoted here, but 99% of people and shops don't, however the factory most likely did. I haven't heard any cases of bolts backing off either, though it's not impossible. I do put a dab of ol' blue on there just in case. I would be more worried that the bolt wasn't torqued to O.E specs, that will cause the bolts to back out, I know cause I had a friend help me install rear disc brakes onto my Camaro. A month later I was coming back from an auto cross event upstate. About an hour from home a loud bang, and a bunch of grinding came from the back. I took the wheel off, and didn't see anything wrong, till I pushed the caliper. All four bolts on the rear calipers abutment bracket that holds it to the rear end housing were finger tight......
So the blue stuff s more for security reasons
