Which bulb for front foglight? H7 or H11?

Does anyone know what bulb fits an '06 Cooper S (mfg date 10/05) lower-bumper fog light? I have researched this with conflicting results that it could either be an H7 or H11 bulb. Why could it be one or the other? Was there a design change in the foglight assembly in prior years? Is there a bulb adapter involved? If possible, I would like to order the correct bulb in advance without having to remove the front bumper just to verify which one to order. Thanks for any insight into this issue.

front fog up to 7/2004 H7 after that H11

you can access the fog by removing the wheel well liner which is easier than removing the bumper. Actually you don't even need to take the whole liner out, just undo a couple of the low front fasteners and you can pull it back enough to get your hand in.

you should be able to find this bulb at any decent auto parts counter

well then the best bet is to pull the old bulb and see what's there

what I gave was what's in the Haynes

they are the same wattage - the base is different

H-11 on your car, as the Cap'n said, no need to pull the bumper cover, turn the wheels all the way to allow you access to the front of the inner fenderwell, remove the plastic screws from the clips, (besides the ones in the very front, it also helps to remove the forward one that is on the inside of the fenderwell almost behind the strut/shock) + don't forget, there's a screw on the bottom of the bumper cover for the fenderwell too. Then just pull back on the fenderwell for access.

I have a 2005 MCS that took H11, but changed the whole thing out to HIDs which work great and were under $100.
Capt BJ is right. Take the wheel off and either flex the front of the fenderliner or remove it. Expect to strip a couple of the screw heads on those plastic anchor screws. So get a couple of extra ones from your local MINI dealer.
