R50/53 Jack 04 MCS Up level to change MTF

Jack 04 MCS Up level to change MTF

I want to change out the MTF on my 2004 MCS but need to jack it up level to access the drain and fill plugs.. any tips etc so I can get this done

Just the same tips as putting the car in the air for anything else.

Jack one side not on the jack points.
I use a 2x4 under the sill just behind the front jack point. The 2x4 is about 2' long to distribute the weight.
Set car down on jack stands under the jack points making sure they are level.
Go to the other side of the car and repeat.

Or you can build a set of ramps....drive up one end of the car....i usussualy do tge front, then jack the rear up, and lower the car onto jackstands.

Chock the rear wheel on the opposite side you are jacking. Jack up the car on one forward side at the jack pad recess. Position a jackstand at the rear side jack pad. Position another jackstand inboard of the front pad on the subframe. Lower the jack and do the other side.
