I test drove my first Mini last night (base model Cooper with a 5 speed). I inquired about mounting a trailer hitch to the vehicle and the dealer/saleman kinda skirted the issue. I have the need to pull a small light trailer (800 lbs gross) from time to time. I found two hitches out there. On by Da'Lan (for the base model Cooper only) and a two piece unit at Minimania.com. The two piece unit can accomodate the Cooper S. Have any of you used hitches before, and if so how does the Mini do with it? Would this void the warranty of the vehicle (I see the Mini has no tow rating).

I live in Canada and have the same hitch use need as you
MINI Canada say's their not going to test the hitch that is availible on
MINI International web site , which must then, been tested???
I for one thinks that the hitch would work over here!!!!
