hey everyone, this is my first post here... neat site, i'm glad i signed up!

im pretty set on getting a 2003 Mini Cooper in pure silver + black roof w/ a CVT-auto (which is just outstanding if i might say!! it fits the mini cooper perfectly for it's size and weight) + premium, sport, and cold weather packages + nav system

anyway, i was just curious on how long it took for you guys in the united states from the day you custom-ordered your MINI at your dealer until the day you drove it off the lot...

also.. i take it you have to start payments right after you order (rather than when the car arrives at the dealership, etc.) ...but i am unsure, can anyone give me some details there?

p.s. i live in a northwest suburb of chicago called libertyville.... 5.5 miles away from Knauz Mini, if anyone has any comments about Knauz i'd love to hear them! (the 1 review on here about Knauz wasnt too pleasant (:()

We haven't gotten ours yet, but ordered it the Tuesday after Labor Day, and have been told it would be ready for pick up around Thanksgiving. Based on tracking it at MINIUSA, it is scheduled for production on 10/25 (next week!!!) I noticed that it takes about 1 month from production date to delivery.

As far as payments, we haven't even started talking with the dealer about the financing, payments, etc.. Just paid the $1000 deposit to place the order. We were told by our motoring advisor, Amanda, that we'll start the purchase paperwork about 2 weeks before delivery. We got our electric blue MCS, with sport, premium and leather from Dreyer and Reinbold in Indianapolis. They were fabulous to work with. If you want to make the drive to Indy (about 3-4 hours) I'd say it is worth it. Check out my post on the dealer review section. They also have several MC and MCS in stock.

Indy- thx for the response, i had a question... is that a 2002 or 2003 MCS?

 

I took delivery Sept 6th, and i'm just now comming up to my due date for my first payment... So they almost give you a free month...

Sorry, didn't clarify that. It is a 2003 model.

 

my mini is currently at the "en route" phase on the website, which means its docked and is on its way to the dist. center. My question is does anyone know how long it will take from this point to get to the dealer? Im in NY and Im not sure where the minis dock or where the dist. center is. It seems all this is happening awful fast im wondering if the website is correct its only been about 4 weeks since i put the order in.
