Honestly I like the stock tail lights blacked out. Or the stock ones with the white dot blacked out.

If your going to pick one of those go with number 2 it will blend well with the dark colors.

I have the clear tail on EB/W. They look good on BRG, but they'd look better with a white top than black.

I like #1 - they're funky but not too ricey. I don't like the thing sticking out of #2 at all! Looks really bad IMO. And the lines across #4 don't do it for me either. Doesn't fit in with the lines of the MINI.

Hope that helps a bit...

I've got the white tails and love them, honestly I wouldn't touch the Altezza-style lights.

I like dark stock or the white. The others are too pimp for my taste. They look like they belong on a lowered Acura with a big wing and coffee-can exhaust.

None of the above.

If I had to pick one...the clears. Like Calvin, I wouldn't touch Altezzas with a ten foot poll.

<---- loves her tinted taillights.

Do you mean like from a law abiding standpoint? I tinted mine last year and I've never had an issue. I did the taillight mod as well so my brakes are extra visible. I've been followed by many cops...and none of them have pulled me over for it.

Wait...you have a black roof. I say...black roof....tint 'em. It makes the color scheme flow. If you use clear tails it will throw it all off. (I would be more inclined to say clear tails with a white roof.)
Here is a picture of mine right after I did them last year.

I did my own stripes... I guess I can do these too? L.Mini - did you have any problems due to the curvature - did you remove the tail before doing it?

I concur black roof = tint.

Although I have seen a JB/JB (like my own) with clear tails and it looked pretty sweet.. But I'm going for the almost all black look.. except those chrome bumber inserts

I applied mine without removing the taillight. It was pretty easy because when I did it, it was summer time and it was very hot out. Because the exterior of my car was pretty hot when I did it, it made the film kinda melty and easier to conform to the curves of the tail. I also used a hairdryer to keep it heated up in the process. The film is sticky, but it does take some work to get it to stay down over the curves. If you have any small air bubbles, don't fear...I had them and as the days were still warm, the bubbles eventually settled and smoothed out.

Are you trying to play up the chrome accents on the car? With the Chrome bumber strip and the Chrome liscence plate light strip I think number one and four would look real sharp.

Have you used photoshop to copy the the lights onto a picture of your car, this helps to see what it will look like.
