I have an 03 mcs i recently tried to do a burnout and the traction control kicked on and stoped me from doing on. I have ASC and i toggled it off to where the light came on on the dash indicating that it was off. Then i procedded to put my car in 1st gear and popped the clutch at about 4k the tires squeled but then the asc light started flashing and restricted my power. Does anyone know how to completley turn off the asc so that i can do a standing burnout? I have seen mcs do burnouts all over youtube. Thanks
Actually that should have done it, not to advocate burn outs, because I would "never" do that.....:sarcasm: You may want to experiment with it again, it may have accidently got switched on somehow, when mine is off, it's off....unless the '03's are different.
My '03 MCS has the DSC option which interfaces with the ABS, EBV, CBC, MSR and ASC!
When switched off, warning symbol on tach confirms system off and wheel spin permitted.
My experience has been it remains off until car is switch off, upon restart DSC is enabled as a default setting.
